Details:Overall Purpose of Job:  As a Relationship Manager ("RM"), he/she is responsible for the management of business development activities associated with a group of Japanese corporate account relationships and prospects with the primary goal being the creation of revenue opportunities with such clients in order to achieve the objectives of the Bank and the Branch. The RM maintains and develops relationships with existing and prospective clients for the purpose of providing overall banking services and cross-selling products while managing the credit risk exposure to the client under collaboration with other members of the Branch as well as other Divisions/Departments of the Bank. Business Travel to assigned customers’ locations in Midwest and South regions including but not limited to, Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio and Virginia are required and approximately 40% of total working hours are allocated to the business trip destination. Responsibilities: Develop, maintain, and work to broaden and deepen close business relationship with existing clients as well as cultivate business with prospect customers. Co-work with members of the Credit Control, Customer Service Group, Administration Group, Product Offices, and RMs of Japanese Primary Offices in providing high quality overall banking services to the clients. Maintain regular calling effort with key members of the client and report to Branch Management all important dialogues. Serve as contact officer for clients for matters relating to all banking services. Advise clients, where possible, concerning business management and financial matters. Extend credit to clients identified as qualified clients based on their creditworthiness and credit requirements as well as their "fit" with the organization. With guidance from Branch Management and consultation with Credit Divisions, establish and negotiate terms and conditions under which credit will be extended to various clients, making sure the terms are in compliance with the bank policy guidelines. When necessary, prepare credit applications and obtain approvals from relevant Credit Divisions. Cross-sell bank products and services in collaboration with Product Office members by proactively identifying transaction opportunities, marketing each product to identified clients, negotiating the terms and conditions, and executing and documenting the transactions. Such products will include derivatives, capital markets activities, foreign exchange, mergers and acquisitions, leasing, securitization, syndications, structured and trade finance, and cash management activities. Collect and analyze information that reflects the current creditworthiness of the clients. Obtain information through (i) direct inspection of the clients' business and collateral, (ii) review of interim financial reports, (iii) personal interviews, and (iv) review of other relevant documents. Monitor financial conditions and loan repayment activities of credit watch clients and take necessary actions to amend terms and conditions or collect past-due accounts. When necessary, prepare periodic credit review reports and perform credit control duties. Counsel and assist in the training and development of entry level RMs. Introduce effective marketing examples to other RMs. Make practical recommendations to JCG Manager in improving the overall quality and functions of the RMs within the Branch. Keep abreast of local, national and international economic, financial and political events and climates that could have an impact on commercial lending activities. Perform special projects and duties relating to departmental services as assigned, including tasks related to internal and external audits and examinations.
